"It ain't over til it's over

Yogi Berra once said “It ain’t over til it’s over”. This is my motivational thought for today. The surprising first round of the NHL Playoffs between the #1 Washington Capitals and the diminutive bottom ranked 8th seeded Montreal Canadiens. Against all odds, the lowly Habs fought and did not give in to the hype to defeat the “Goliath” of the hockey world.  I take particular notice to this lesson because (a) I live in Montreal and am a Habs Fan and (b) I understand the challenge of having the odds stacked against us.

I fight depression and hopelessness on a daily basis. The usual stresses (finances, family and health) are magnified by my residence in a “foreign” country and my legal circumstances south of the border (not Mexico). God has obviously intervened and has sustained us thus far and I can only have the faith that His protection will continue. Unless some major windfall is bestowed on us, my situation remains on the edge of disaster. THAT is stress. This stress is shared by my lovely bride, Denise. That is the most discouraging fact of all. I can only accept  that whatever happens to me is deserving, but my wonderful wife should not have to endure that.  But like the lowly Habs, or the spunky David against the giant, I will keep on keeping on. Day by Day and sometimes even hour by hour or even minute by minute I will keep trying to rise above the muck.

I give ALL the Glory and honor to my sustenance to My God and hope that whatever happens, will show others HIS love and power over ALL Odds.

I solicit Your prayers or anything else

Until next time …

May God Bless You and Yours

Gene
