My Source of Direction

Psalm 130

From the deep water cry out to you, O Lord.
O Lord, listen to me!
Pay attention to my plea for mercy!
If you, O Lord, were to keep track of sins,
O Lord, who could stand before you?
But you are willing to forgive,
so that you might be honored.
I rely on the Lord,
I rely on him with my whole being;
I wait for his assuring word.
I yearn for the Lord,
more than watchmen do for the morning,
yes, more than watchmen do for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord,
for the Lord exhibits loyal love,
and is more than willing to deliver.
He will deliver Israel
from all the consequences of their sins.

How many time have we begun a journey and find out that the road is not as we expected? How many time have we questioned the route we were on? And of course being a man, hesitate to ask directions (ok stop laughing, ladies)?

I find myself in this situation a lot and have to go back to my roadmap to reorient myself on a regular basis. I have heard it said that no matter where ever you are – there you are and that there is a way to get to where you need to be. Regardless of the circumstances, this is true. I really believe that philosophy.  We may have to take many little side roads to make it to the highway again, but we can be assured that our roadmap and our GUIDE will see us through IF we follow the directions. I hold on to that thought because I find myself in some pretty impossible places. Many times I pray “THY KINGDOM COME” just to end the confusion and strife in my life. BUT life goes on and somehow I make it through another day and occasionally find that I have come through the valley and onto a open and restful plain.  Psalm 23:4 Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death, I will fear no evil for Thou art with me …
It is my hope and prayer that no matter your circumstances, you will remember that it is only a temporary challenge and that, if you persevere, you/we will got through it. And by meeting that challenge, you/we will be stronger and wiser for the experience. But at the same time remember that wisdom is learning from the mistakes of others and experience is having to learn from your own. PLEASE read and learn from MY mistakes so you will not have to endure the same.

Until next time:
May God Bless You and Yours
Gene
